Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa D1 is issued for 1, 2, and even 5 years and allows you to stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days per visit, extendable 2 times for 60 days each time.

So it lets you stay up to 180 days per visit, after which you need to leave the country. You can return anytime, and a new 60-day period will begin each time you re-enter Indonesia. This period can be again extended up to two times, each time for an additional 60 days.
